The busiest golf professional in Redding (CA) these days is June Szody (zö-dë). June has returned as Head Professional at Churn Creek and usually teaches 12 to 14 lessons a day. As a veteran teaching professional she is used to this kind of schedule, and thrives on it.

June's experience in the golf industry goes back many years to the time when she and her ex-husband owned and operated Deer Valley Golf Links in Crescent Mills, CA. June ran the golf shop and gave lessons. After selling the course, June spent three years as Head Professional at Lake Almanor Country Club, five years at Lake Almanor West, and seven years at Churn Creek GC in Redding. June served as the Assistant Women's Golf Coach for Shasta College in Redding from 1998 - 2001, and then Head Men's and Women's Golf Coach from 2003- 2008. She was on board to help open up Sevillano Links, a John Daly Signature Golf Course At Rolling Hills Casino, for nine months and returned to Redding to accept the Head Pro position at Churn Creek June joined the LPGA Teaching & Club Professional Division in 1989, receiving her Class A in 1994. In addition, to her teaching duties, June has served as the Education Coordinator for the LPGA T&CP Division Western Section. She continues to serve the Section as a Member Advisor. Since 1994, June has volunteered as an instructor at a number of women's clinics, including the Soroptimist Women's Golf Clinic in Carmel, CA, and the nationally recognized Gillette LPGA Golf Clinics for Women. In 2000, June was chosen by her peers as the LPGA Western Section Professional of the Year.
